DOLCE A ROMA (DESSERTS IN ROME)

Living "la dolce vita"isn't complete without good dessert (dolce). So here's a list of my personal favourite dolci in Rome.

1. Pompi Tiramisù
Pompi Tiramisù - Hazelnut
This is so far the best tiramisu I've ever tried in Rome. It's not just food, it's a masterpiece, a work of art. Since tiramisu is my favourite dessert, this automatically made Pompi Tiramisù the champion of my list. They made this tiramisu hand made and it comes in several flavours, ranging from the good ol' classic tiramisu, hazelnut, strawberry, pistachio, etc. My favourites are the classic and hazelnut. What I like from this tiramisu is that they have a great cream consistency and the right amount of sweetness so it doesn't make you feel too heavy on your stomach after a meal. They have several stores around Rome but I usually go to the one in Via Della Croce, near Piazza di Spagna. On a side note, be patient in getting this tiramisu because Pompi usually have a long queue of customers.

Price: 4EUR per slice
Location: Via Della Croce 82

2. Fatamorgana Gelato
Fatamorgana Gelato - dragonfruit and cheesecake and blueberries flavour
When it comes to gelato, hands down to Fatamorgana. They have loads of unique and excentric flavours (+20 flavours to opt) from fruity, nutty, to chocolaty. For those of you who are gluten intolerant, Fatamorgana also have gluten free (and egg free) options too! They change the flavours quite often so it could be a good opportunity for you to keep coming there and try new flavours haha. My personal choice of flavours are matcha, hazelnut, cheesecake and blueberries. If the weather is nice, it's good to enjoy your gelato in Piazza degli Zingari, Monti, a mini square located right in front of the shop.

Price: 2.5EUR for two scoops
Location: Piazza degli Zingari 5

3. Homemade Tiramisu from Ginger Sapori e Salute
Ginger Sapori e Salute - Classic Tiramisu
Ginger Sapori e Salute literally translates to Ginger Flavours and Health (haha idk why I find it funny, please pardon my weird sense of humour). Anyway, I must say that this tiramisu is the second best tiramisu  in Rome after Pompi. I guess they're both good but in a different way - it's hard to explain. But this restaurant also has great choice for brunch too. So if you ever go here for brunch/ lunch/ dinner, don't forget to order the homemade tiramisu for dessert.

Price: 6EUR
Location:Via Borgognona 43-46

4. Graffe from Ce Stamo A Pensà
Ce Stamo A Pensà
I absolutely love Ce Stamo A Pensà. This is probably my go to restaurant for my lunch break. They serve great Italian and Mediterranean food, provide great service, really good music, have artistic and unique interior design, and the price is cheap. It is a small restaurant located in Monti area (heaven area for food). Beside panini, pasta, fried pizza, and other main dish, they also have graffe to offer as dessert. So graffe is basically a fried pizza dough covered with sugar. As it usually comes in such a big portion, I usually share it with a friend. When you come to Monti, Graffe is definitely a must try dessert.

Price: 1.5EUR per piece
Location: Via Leonina 81

5. Chocolate/ cookies from Grezzo Raw Chocolate
Grezzo Raw Chocolate
Still in Monti area (whoop whoop!!)...Grezzo raw chocolate is a dessert heaven, especially for those chocolate lovers out there. They are vegan and vegetarian friendly, plus they have gluten free options. What I like the most from their menu are their chocolates, cookies, and chocolate pie. And the best part of this place is that they serve chocolate in its purest form with organic ingredients and without any cooking/ baking involved! They also have ice cream and tiramisu but I think their expertise is chocolate, not ice cream or tiramisu. The cookies price are set around 2EUR per piece, 6EUR each for tiramisu and chocolate pie, and around 10-15EUR for one slice of cake.

Price: ranges from 2-15EUR
Location: Via Urbana 31

6. Cannoli from Mizio
Unfortunately I don't have any picture of the Cannoli, but it's basically a Sicilian pastry in a form of tube with ricotta filling in it. The ricotta filling is just sooooo good and the size is relatively bigger than other Cannoli sold in coffee shop or pasticceria. The shop is located only a few meters away from Fatamorgana so it should be easy to find. As a heads up, the shop keeper doesn't speak English so if you don't speak Italian, you're just gonna have to point out what you want.

Price: 2.5EUR
Location: Via Degli Zingari 54A
